The offshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is quite good all year long, but the peak season is from May through late September. Common catches are red snapper, vermillion snapper, amber jack, king mackerel, blackfin tuna, wahoo, ling (cobia), grouper, sharks and the occasional sailfish and marlin.
