This area of the Texas Coast is the winter home for hundreds of thousands of waterfowl, mostly ducks. Shooting is from blinds in the back marshes, and your guide will be right by your side, making sure the decoys are set and calling the ducks in to your gun. Most common targets are widgeon, teal, pintails, redheads and other diving ducks - all challenging wing shooting targets.

Duck hunters should bring warm, waterproof clothing, gloves and waders. Licenses and appropriate stamps can be purchased at the Lodge. Those requiring a rental shotgun will be required to sign a release form before the gun will be released.

NOTE: Texas law requires all hunters born on or after September 2, 1971 to have successfully completed a hunter education course to legally hunt in the State of Texas. This is a 10-hour course.
